Do Mormons Believe In Jesus?

The purpose of going to church is to learn about the Savior, his divine mission here on earth, and how each of us can have faith and exercise repentance through his atonement. In my opinion, this pursuit of repenting and striving to become more like Jesus is a lifetime pursuit. The more I learn about it, the more fascinating and intriguing it is to me.

The real name for the Mormon church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A lot of people don’t know this.  The Church of Jesus Christ, and the Mormon church are the same thing.  When people asked me the question,” do Mormons believe in Jesus“, I say that they do.  I have been Mormon all my life and attended church and read the Bible and the book of Mormon, and I know for a certainty that Mormons are Christians.

When I hear people ask, “are Mormons Christians“, it makes you wonder if perhaps I should be a better example, or maybe at least speak up for myself more often. There are a lot of good people out there that don’t know what to believe. They may believe whatever they hear from their pastor or church. And believe it or not, when pastors speak out on Mormons, they don’t always tell you the truth. I used to listen to Christian radio, but I got so disgusted with them telling lies about Mormons that I stopped listening to their stations. Now it really is easy to find out what Mormons really believe. You can visit their site called Mormon.org, or you can read the Book of Mormon or talk to the Mormon missionaries. All of these things can help you to know what Mormons really believe.   You can even try attending a church service if you want.

Mormons Are Christians Even Though They Don’t Believe In The Trinity

Many people wonder, are Mormons Christians? Some people who say that Mormons are not Christians, say that they are not because they don’t believe in the Trinity. According to Catholic doctrine, the Trinity means that God the eternal father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all one person. Mormons believe that they are three separate beings. They believe that God the father and Jesus Christ have tangible bodies of flesh and bone. The Holy Ghost is a personages of spirit.  In Genesis 1:26 it reads that God created man in his own image. It is pretty obvious from reading scriptures that Christ came down and dwelt in a tabernacle of flesh.  At the time of Christ’s baptism and when he was on the Mount of Transfiguration, all of the writers of the gospel were testament that there were in fact three different personages.  When the Scriptures talk about God in Jesus Christ being one, they mean that they are one in purpose, and one in there mission. When Christ was in the garden of Gethsemane, he prayed to his father saying, “Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me”. Believing that God and Jesus Christ are the same, this verse wouldn’t make much sense.

There are also modern references to Jesus Christ and the heavenly father being separate beings. One of these references was when Joseph Smith prayed to find out which church was true. In response to his prayer, God the father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. God the father said about Christ, “This is my beloved son, hear him”. Because of this remarkable vision, and many scriptural references about Jesus Christ, we can know that God the father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct beings. It is also worth mentioning that when the Nicene Creed came about, there were lots of dissenting opinions that believed God and Jesus Christ were separate beings. At the Nicene Creed, people simply voted on what they thought was correct, and even though they wanted to do the right thing, they did seek the inspiration of the Holy Ghost to help them establish correct doctrine.

Are Mormons Christians? Mormon Beliefs and More!

Are Mormons Christians? This is a question that with my friends who are non-Mormons will ask me. Even if I try to live my life in such a way that I can be a good example and follow the teachings of the Jesus Christ, I sometimes feel like it is not enough. With so much negativity about the Mormon church, and a lot of outright lies, it is hard for even the best people to know the truth. Are Mormons Christians? This question is so fundamentally important, that I decided to start a website dedicated to answering it.

Even very good people, often don’t know what to believe or what is right.  Of course Mormons are Christians! Absolutely, in every sense of the word! This doesn’t mean that they are perfect, but there are a lot of good Mormons trying to live a Christlike life by following his example.  And if you attend a church meeting or service, you will understand that our belief is entirely centered around the Savior and that mormons are Christians.  The Mormon church is officially called the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.  The word Mormon is a nickname derived from the Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. Christ taught his doctrine through prophets of the Old Testament. He also taught his doctrine in the New Testament. Likewise, the Book of Mormon is a third witness of Jesus Christ’s divine ministry, and gospel.   If you really want to know whether or not Mormons are Christians, read The Book of Mormon, or read “Jesus the Christ” by James E Talmage. You will not only learn about Mormonism, but more importantly you will also learn a lot about Christ, and his role as our Savior. All Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God, and they also believe that God works the same way today that he worked in ancient days. Anciently God work through prophets like Abraham, Moses, and Elijah. Today he also works through living prophets. In the New Testament, Christ called 12 apostles to lead his church. Today, Christ also has 12 apostles that guide and direct his church.  Each one of the 12 apostles is a special witness of Jesus Christ. Not only of his divine ministry but also of his resurrection.
